I started Dash with phonics lessons at age 4. He attended classes with Teacher Sharon at her house in Punggol. Honestly, I think Sharon is a great teacher who can really teach phonics well. Many of my colleague’s children are with her too. Dash had zero knowledge of phonics when he first started lesson, but after a month, he knew all his sounds (after 4-5 lessons). Subsequently, he started to recognise words.

I decided to let Violet start earlier at age 3 years old. She still doesn’t know her abc or 123, which worries me. I hope she can pick up abcs, as well as phonics from Teacher Sharon. This was the first time she attended a lesson all by herself. She cried a bit, but after that, she was ok. She even told my hubby that she will like to go for lesson everyday. I really hope she is able to enjoy the lessons, and learn her alphabets and sounds.
