I bought the children’s baking workshop at Big Fun Kitchen from Groupon. It costs $58 for 2 adults and 2 children. I chose pasta making cause we had tried pizza making, cupcakes and cookies making before but not pasta making.

Hubby took leave to participate in the activity with us. It was a good bonding time for us with the kids.

The kids learnt about the names of different names of pasta, and how to make pasta from dough. They saw how the machine cut the dough into linguine, and they also had the chance to cut mushroom and hotdogs in small pieces. Big Fun Kitchen provides the kids with special plastic knives that are safe for them to use. I was rather impressed with the way the two chefs interacted with the kids, and engaged them in the pasta making activities. Throughout the pasta making activity, there was not a single moment whereby the kids were left with nothing to do, while waiting for the rest to arrive, and during the pasta eating time, “Despicable me” movie was played and the kids were all watching the movie intently. While waiting for the chef to cook the pasta, the other chef showed powerpoint slides to introduce different colours pasta etc. The kids were meaningful engaged throughout the whole activity, unlike some other workshops we had been to. I was also surprised that the two chefs could remember the names of all the kids in the workshop.

Overall, it is a meaningful and interesting workshop for the kids. They enjoyed the session! The pasta tasted yummy too!
