We will go to Batam every year cause my in laws has a house there, so we just need to purchase the ferry tickets. We have very helpful relatives in Batam who will drive us around, so it is very convenient for us.
We usually went in December for the past few years.

We love to go Batam to shop, cause we can buy many things there at cheap prices, like pyjamas, kids’ clothings, my own working dresses, hubby’s working shirts etc.
It is also a getaway from the city life for us, as there is no internet access over there. As my in laws’ house is big, with two storeys and a small courtyard, the kids have lots of fun playing and running about the big space.
However, as usual, one thing I don’t really like is the poor hygiene, there are a lot of mosquitoes and houseflies everywhere. This time round, my mum went with us to Batam. She enjoyed shopping there too!
On the whole, it was a great and rewarding trip for us!
