The last time we went for a stay at Amara Santuary resort was about 5 years ago. http://ido.sg/theincredibles/?p=2390
This time round, the staycation costs me about $300, without breakfast.
It is a beautiful and secluded resort in Sentosa. We love the place. But one disadvantage is that you risk stepping on shits left over by the birds or peacocks (which Violet did).
We love the free flow of kachang puteh and their signature ice tea at the hotel’s main lobby. The food serve at the restaurants in the hotel are nice as well. We had our lunch at Shutters, and dinner at Thanying, the two restaurants located in the hotel. The food are yummy, especially Thanying which serves Thai food.
The hotel room is spacious, with a sofa bed just nice enough for one more person to sleep on. The toilet has a big bath tub great for bath tub lovers.
After we checked into the hotel room at about 12pm, we went to have our lunch at Shutters, rested a while in the room, and went to explore around Sentosa. This time round, we did not go to places like port of lost wonder, adventure cove, universal studio etc, as we just visited those place not long ago. We decided to just go free and easy. We passed by the Palawan amphitheatre, and there was a birds show around 3pm, so we just just sat down to watch the show since there were not many people. We visited the Merlion, since tickets are cheap, about $20 for the 4 of us. Sentosa is having Buskers festival, and the kids participated in the beads making activity, and tried out the different tricks like “che ling” and balancing of the plate on a stick. We caught sight of a man painted in all grey like a statue, and took a photo with him. He was pretending to be the leaning man. We also managed to catch a show put up by a Javi Javichy, a man from spain, who was very humerous, and did the balancing trick. Finally, we had our dinner at Thanying restaurant. The Thai food is very delicious, and Dash even rated it 9/10.
The next morning, we brought the kids for a swim in the hotel’s pool. The pool is rather disappointing though, with many fallen leaves in it. The pool is situated at a place with lots of trees. It is surrounded by nature. The pool is nice, however looks a bit dirty with the fallen leaves, as well as shits on the pavements (think left over by the peacocks or whatever animals).
After we checked out from the hotel, we went to Penarakan museum as I need to familiarise myself with the place before bringing my P1 kids there in September. The kids were not really keen in the exhibits. They were only keen in looking for the embossing stations.
Finally, we went for lunch at Saizeriya in City Square mall, our favorite dining place. That ended our September holiday fun.
