We went to KL for 3 days 2 nights. We took Jetstar airbus which costs about $420 for a family of 4 (much more expensive than the last time we went there). My main purpose of going KL is actually to bring the kids to Kidzania. Since the place is not far from Sunway Lagoon, we chose to stay at Pyramid Tower Hotel next to Sunway Lagoon which costs about $400 for 2 nights. The hotel room was big and spacious, but it’s aircon was too freezing. We switched off our hotel room’s aircon, yet could still feel the chill. As it was just a short 3 days 2 nights trip, we just brought the kids to Sunway Lagoon and Kidzania, cause we spend almost like the whole day at each place.

For Sunway Lagoon, we bought the tickets online. It costs about $125. We had actually went to Sunway Lagoon before (http://ido.sg/theincredibles/?p=7128). However, the last time we brought Dash there, we did not try a lot of rides cause he was still young. But this time round, we tried more simple rides, and actually let the kids played with the waterpark. It was fun for them, they enjoyed themselves a lot.

The next day, we went to Kidzania. It costs us about $101. It was very crowded, maybe because it was Malaysia school holidays cum weekends. Anyway, we wasted a lot of time queuing up and waiting, cause if we missed one session, we needed to wait for another 20-25 minutes for the next session. So although we went there around 11am and stayed till 3pm, we could only let the kids try like 4-5 occupations. The place is actually for kids to try out different occupations and to earn $ but some occupations will need them to pay $. At the end of the day, they can use the $ they earn to exchange for souvenirs. Dash tried the job of a police, dentist, surgeon, firefighter and artist, wheras Violet was rather timid, so she only managed to try out the job as a dentist, artist and Vitagen production operator. It was a new and interesting experience for the kids, but I think it was was boring for adults, as we mainly queued and waited with the kids (There was nothing much we could do there anyway). But as long as the kids are happy, what more can we ask for?

We are waiting for Kidzania to be here in Singapore in year 2015! By then, Violet will be older, and we will definitely bring the kids to try out the different occupations again!

On the whole, it was a great trip for us. The kids had tons of fun, so as their parents, we enjoyed ourselves too! We managed to do some shopping and ate some yummy food. Total amount we spend on the trip around $1400+ inclusive of expenditure, a bit expensive, but so long as we enjoyed ourselves. 🙂

Before departure, we took a lot of photos with the angry bird theme in Changi Airport. Our flight was 705am, so everybody had to wake up at 4am+. It was indeed very tiring.

Sunway Pyramid Hotel room, about 40 minutes from KL airport

Day 1 at Sunway Lagoon, there are some new places like wildlife park, where you can have close encounters with animals such as rabbits, tortise, roosters, peacocks etc. We only visited the wildlife park, amusement park and waterplay park (the more simple one suitable for kids), for the extreme park with exciting rides, and scream park, they are definitely not suitable for us. The kids took some simple rides (Something like those we took in SingaporeUniversal Studio), followed by water play. They enjoyed more of the water play, cause it was something like our sentosa port of lost wonder. The sun was rather glaring and strong, so we were rather exhausted when we were going around for the rides. It started to drizzle around nearly 4pm, so we made our way back to hotel to rest, and had our dinner cum shopping at Sunway pyramid shopping mall. The shopping mall is huge! We went around and around like being in a maze. I bought some clothes for myself and the kids, it costs about RM45-50 for 3 pieces which was rather cheap (that was the cheapest I can find actually).

Day 2: We spend almost more than half the day at Kidzania. Dash tried out different occupations like dentist, police, artist, surgeon and firefighter, wheras Violet tried out occupations like dentist, artist and Vitagen production operator. The kids either earn or pay $ from the different occupations. At the end of the day, they can exchange what they earn for souvenirs. As the place was crowded with people, We needed to wait like 20-40 minutes or more for one occupation cause once we missed the session, we needed to wait for the next one (each session took 20 minutes), and one session took in like 6-9 kids only. The place was crowded with people, so it was really just queuing and waiting. However, it was a great experience for the kids. We stayed there until nearly 4pm and made our way back to hotel. It was raining, luckily we managed to get a cab. The cab fee was not cheap about RM60-70 per trip. After resting in the hotel room for a while, we made our way to sunway pyramid shopping mall again cause we did not manage to finish shopping on day 1. We bought our dinner back to hotel room to eat, cause we were too tired.

Day 3: We just relaxed in the hotel room after breakfast, checked out at about 11am, took a cab to the airport, and realized we were far too early cause our flight was 315pm (I thought it was 220pm). We discovered a playground in the airport by KFC, and the kids had some fun there. We walked around the airport till it was time to board the plane. Home sweet home finally! 🙂
