Dash’s first plane ride +our 5 days 4 nights tour at KL. This post is to jot down our memories of the 5 days 4 nights KL tour.

It was a rather cheap air flight as we travelled by jetstar to KL. When I bought the ticket, the price was $5 per person for one way trip, so in total I spend about $282 with insurance and taxes. I did not choose to go by bus, as I am a person who hates long journey bus due to my weak bladder ever since after giving birth, and I don’t think Dash can take it either. We did not bring along darling Violet, cause we felt that she is too young to enjoy, and also it is really troublesome to bring her milk bottles, and I don’t feel comfortable in letting her take outside food. Anyway, Dash loves his plane flight. He was asking a lot of questions like “is the plane flying already?” “are we landing?” “can i take off the seat belt already” blar blar blar. During the flight there to KL, he was also busy doing coloring as I bought him a bag of coloring activity books from the Singapore airport.

DAY 1: Petronas twin towers + KLCC:

We took the plane from singapore at 720am, and reached KL at about 810am. I booked the hotel cum tour package through asiatravel for about $680 that includes 4 nights hotel stay, genting and sunway lagoon trips, and it was a private bus that came to fetch us. We stayed at Royal Bintang Hotel, which was a four stars hotel. Throughout the KL tour, we took the private bus to places like genting and sunway lagoon, with about 1-2 more families with us on the bus (all indians). For the first day, we just went to the KL twin tower and the Suria KLCC to shop. We also visited the KLCC Aquaria, which is something like our sentosa underwater world. Hubby said it was better, but I thought otherwise. Anyway, we had our lunch at sakae sushi (Dash’s favorite food), wow the prices are a lot more cheaper at KL compare to singapore! The prices of the sushi plates were actually about the same prices as singapore but in Ringgit! Then at night, we went to times square and we feasted on KFC. I love to eat Malaysia’s KFC! They have black pepper chickens instead of our crispy chickens which I find more delicious! I saw a lot of crocs shoes selling at the shopping centre for just RM20. I stupidly asked the person if they are authentic, cause they look exactly like the real crocs shoes (Logo exactly the same), Dash wanted a pair of orange crocsband (girlish), so I bought him one. Then we realised everything look so real for the fake crocs shoes until you look at the bottom of the shoes!

Day 2: Sunway Lagoon

We set off at about 10am. We stayed there for about 6-7 hours. Actually, Dash was not able to sit for most of the rides as they were too thrilling for him. We did not visit the wet park too. So we just spend about an hour at the dry theme park, and proceeded to the Sunway Pyramid to have our lunch at coffee bean and then to shop. Dash sat his first roller coaster (simple one), and turned out crying at the end of the whole thing. haha. You can see Daddy brought Dash to sit all the rides, as this mummy is really getting old, heart cannot take it, even the head also cannot take it, cause all the rides were spinning rides, I would get giddy…Oh yah, I bought a pair of authentic crocs band at RM120+ at Sunway lagoon for Dash, as he was complaining about pain in his feet (that was the result of wearing RM20 fake crocs shoes lor). This time, he chose lime color which is a bit striking but looks nice. For dinner, we tried the hotel dine in menus.

Day 3: Genting

Well, this was the most boring day for us. We set off at about 9am to Genting. On the way, the bus stopped by batu caves for us to take some pictures, and the batu shop. Finally about 10 plus near 11am, we proceeded up to genting. The bus took us to cable cars station to take the cable car to genting. It was such a long queue there! I guess it was because we went there during school holidays + weekends. Anyway, we took quite a while to finally sit the cable car. Dash enjoyed sitting the cable car so much! Well, it was a good experience for us though I was already fuming with all that waiting. When we reached genting, we went to genting highlands resort to have our international buffet lunch. After that, we went to the indoor theme park and saw the huge number of people over there! It was flooded with people everywhere!!! We did not try their indoor or outdoor theme park as those rides suitable for Dash were actually more or less the same as the ones in sunway lagoon. Anyway, it was too crowded, and we did not bother to queue for the rides. We wanted to bring Dash to see the” ripley’s believe it or not” but he refused to go in when he saw the scary person outside. So we just went around first world resort to shop, and it was quite boring as there were nothing much to shop there…it was a boring day for us.

Day 4: Half day city tour + shopping at Pavilion, lot 10, bb plaza and sungei wong

I booked a private half day KL tour through the internet for about RM240. We were fetched by a mercedes benz with a English speaking tour guide. It was quite a meaningful tour as we learnt more about the history and landmarks of KL. However, the weather was too hot, by the end of the half day tour, Dash and I were already about to get sick with the heat. We went to the king palace, tian hou temple, Masjid Jamek – the oldest mosque in Kuala Lumpur and war monument. After the half day tour, we spend our remaining half of the days with shopping and shopping.

Day 5: We left the hotel for airport at 1040am so we did not really do much.

Finally, we did not really buy a lot of things from KL as the prices for most of the things are about the same as Singapore. But their vcds/dvds are cheaper, so we bought quite a couple for both Dash and Violet. The tomica cars are also quite cheap, only RM6.90 which is about S$3 plus while Singapore is selling at nearly $6.

On the whole, although we had quite a fulfilling trip, but I feel that Dash is still too young to enjoy. When we went to shop, he was quite bored there…and we felt that we are old already, and don’t have the stamina to walk that much. We tend to want to find a place to rest after walking a while…age is really catching up. We feel that it is best we stay in Singapore, and just go for our usual hotel stays. haha….
