We went for a very short trip to Batam during the March holidays. After my PTM on Friday, we rushed to take a ferry to Batam and reached Batam around evening time.

We had dinner at the Toby’s Estate and after that we went back to hotel to rest. We splurged on business class ferry this time round, and booked a 1 bedder apartment at Oakwood hotel and apartments. Taking business class ferry gives us the priority to board early, and we do not have to queue or rush to find seats. In addition, there is a special lounge for us to wait for the ferry. It was quite a good experience taking business class ferry.

The hotel is connected to Grand Batam Mall, a newer shopping mall and we love shopping there.

The next day, we spend our time shopping at the mall. We had Hai Di Lao for lunch, which costs about $90+. We ordered quite a lot of food. If we eat it in Singapore, I think it definitely costs more than that.

We bought some clothing from Uniqlo, our all time favourite, and snacks and hair products from the supermarket.

My main purpose to go Batam is to buy my hair treatment products which is cheap over there.

At about 3pm plus, I started to have running nose, so we went back to hotel to rest. I suddenly had a flu and in the end we had to retreat early. The next morning, we took an early ferry back home too, because I was afraid my cold would get worse.

Although it was a very short trip but it is still good to have a short getaway during the March holidays.
